This category is for companies of any size that have been trading for less than a year.  Our judges will be looking for the finalists to show innovation, did you identify there was a gap in the market for something new or does your business offer something new, or have a twist of having great vision for the future.

Small Business of the year

This category is for companies that are sole traders, micro businesses and limited companies with less than 10 employees. Our Judges will be looking for the finalists to have demonstrated sustainability and overcome the challenges to drive the business forward by adapting to their market during the pandemic, do you have a product or service of a high standard that has a good leading edge on your competitors?

BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This category is for any dynamic business with 11+ employees. Our judges will be looking for the finalists to demonstrate sustainability, continual growth and overcome challenges to have driven the business forward showing initiative with great management practices

FOOD AND DRINK BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This category is open to any Food and Drink businesses, our judges will be looking for businesses  who have consistently thought outside the box, have been agile and adapted to offer great dining experience whether take away or eat in.

This can include restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, pubs, hotels and take away establishments

HEALTH & WELLBEING

Health & wellbeing is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, this category is open to any business that helps anyone with their health and wellbeing from Gyms, Fitness Instructors, Counsellors, Nutritionists and sports clubs (run as businesses) You will need to demonstrate a business model that helps improve peoples health & wellbeing, share your success stories, provide testimonials from your clients.

HAIR & BEAUTY BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This category is open to all beauty salons, nail bars, hairdressers and barbers, tannng salon, make up artists, massage therapists. Our Judges will be looking for those who provide a consistently good service, atmosphere and customer satisfaction along with keeping upto date with all current market trends and regulations.

Retailer of the year

This category is open to any retailers online or with fixed premises that provides a good shopping experience for its customers, a friendly feel that keep shoppers coming back.  This could be a local business that is an integral part of the community, a retailer that helps keep the local community spirit alive and make small towns the place to visit. There also needs to be demonstration of consistent growth with growing sales over the past year, plans for future longevity and innovation and where the business has its ‘niche’ it its industry.

THE GREEN AWARD

This category is for businesses that have been working to help towards reducing or removing products that have an harmful impact on the environment. Have you made efforts to reduce use of plastic, and changing from single plastic use and make a sustainable and environmentally conscious business. Have you changed your process or products to comply with this thinking?

SERVICE INDUSTRY BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

This category is open to all business that offer a service to their customers, from accountants, solicitors, plumbers, electricians etc giving great customer service, advice and excellent quality of work.

You must be able to show that you have grown your business over the last year, providing testimonials from your customers and demonstrating your quality of advice and work.

Community Award

Recognising business that will have demonstrated considerable dedication to corporate, social and ethical responsibility, providing the community with the many positive outcomes of their commercial activity.

Judges will focus on businesses that have contributed substantially to the community through the pandemic who went far and beyond the call of duty during a challenging time.
